Stylist &

Closet Consultant

Style is a powerful thing. It can tell the world a lot about you without saying a word. Accurately expressing yourself through a look doesn’t always come easy.

That’s where I come in!

I believe that style is an extension of your personality and how you feel. When I’m happy and hopeful I create some of my best looks. Of course, this is because I’m feeling good, but I’m able to do this because I have curated a wardrobe of considered pieces that bring me joy. This is easier said than done with the overwhelming amount of options out there, and although inspiring, it can be exhausting and confusing. Let me help you make getting dressed and expressing yourself best parts of your day!

My Services

My services go beyond simply selecting outfits. I provide personalized style advice, wardrobe organization, and expert guidance on incorporating vintage elements into modern looks. Whether you're looking to revamp your entire wardrobe or seeking guidance for a special event, I'm here to help you discover your personal style and create a wardrobe that inspires you.

Shopping options are based on: environmental impact, originality, and quality. If you have any other preferences please let me know in advance so I can accommodate.

  • This is a fun little date where I get to know you! Instead of filling out the styling questionnaire we will have a virtual or in-person consultation to determine what additional services you need. You tell me what your style goals, values, and preferences are.

  • The main event! I will go through your wardrobe and give my honest opinion on items you should edit out, give a second chance, and help to identify the missing pieces needed to make your closet work for you. I will also take care of the edits by either: donating, consigning, or recycling on your behalf. This service is not able to be performed virtually.

  • Have you ever looked in your closet and thought that you have nothing to wear? Does your closet bring you joy, but you still find yourself having a hard time getting dressed? If that sounds like you then this service is what you need! I will assess your wardrobe and style 3 fresh looks with your existing wardrobe. This service can be done virtually or in-person.

  • When you get your mind set on a particular piece; whether it is as simple as a “light blue cropped bolero,” or as specific as “the Miu Miu S/S 2010 pants used in look 10,” it can drive you crazy trying to track it down! With this service I do the hunting for you and will also provide similar items if I am unable to find the exact match.

  • I will send you a curated list of shop-able items that I think would be worthy of a place in your wardrobe. I can provide an overall list of 10 items or break it down to be item-specific.

  • Need an outfit for an upcoming event? I will style you from head to toe for whatever your upcoming occasion is.

  • If my other services aren’t what your looking for I am happy to provide assistance a la carte! You tell me what you want! It can be anything like: style advice for one look (even the night of!), the best ways organize your belts, or how to resist the temptation to buy new.

LET'S SET IT UP!

Hi, I'm Alex!

I am based out of New Haven, CT and to know me is to know how much I love fashion. I pour over magazines and books, eagerly await the new collections to be posted on Vogue Runway, and probably spend more time browsing vintage online than going to the grocery store.

I graduated with a degree in fashion merchandising from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2010. While I was there I interned hundreds of hours at revered fashion publications and learned more about the exploitative nature of the industry. As an environmentalist it pained me to witness the extreme disregard for the planet and humanity. I have always shopped second-hand whenever possible and practiced extending the life of garments through maintenance, repairs, and alterations. I knew that I could not be part of this industry that is primarily based on planned obsolescence.

I found my place and purpose in the second-hand and vintage fashion market. After spending several years managing Roundabout, a designer consignment and close-out boutique in Fairfield County, it shed a light on the population's inclination towards mindless over-consumption and how unaware people are of their sense of style.

When I started doing personal styling I saw how my clients benefitted from my guidance. Their shopping habits changed and self-confidence was boosted. It took me a while, but I finally made the big decision to leave my demanding job to follow my true calling. I am of the firm belief that you do not need to be rich or a celebrity to have a stylist, and everyone can reap the rewards of my expertise. There is nothing that gives me a better feeling than helping people confidently represent their true self through their wardrobe.

I am currently accepting new clients and I can’t wait to work with you!

Testimonials

"I needed a winter coat, but I couldn’t find anything I liked that also fit my petite frame; frustrated and cold I reached out to Alex. She provided me with options from designers I never heard of and ended up purchasing 2 of the 3 she recommended! I love her style and she definitely understands mine.”

- Catherine Troy

"Alex's expertise transformed my closet organization. Through her guidance, I confidently donated 13 bags of clothes by the end of our session. I'm thrilled with the results – I now have a clearer wardrobe that allows me to maximize the use of my clothes and make informed decisions on future investments."

- Erin Foster

"I was tired of my clothes. I thought the answer was to buy new ones, but I wanted to do it in a more thoughtful way. Alex helped me to look at what I have in a different way. Turns out I only needed a few new (second-hand) pieces to give my old wardrobe life again! I never thought I would be someone who used a stylist, but I am a convert!”
